2. Face weight MaxTurf's face weight is 56 oz per square yard. Many
competitors are only 44 oz per square yard costing $3.49 per square feet for a
lower-end product.
3. Total weight MaxTurf's total weight per square yard is 91.5 oz. Leading
competitor’s total weight is approximately 60 oz.
4. Density It's important to see and feel how dense the turf is. There are
many turf products out there with wide-spread gaps between the grass fibers.
Their grass blades are flat and doesn't look like real grass. MaxTurf’s Dtex is
11,000. Many brands only have its Dtex at 8,800! (Dtex=measures the density of
fibers in grams per 10,000 meters.)
5. Backing The number of layers of backing and the backing material itself is
also very important when determining which brand of turf to purchase. MaxTurf
has three (3) layers made from polyester and polypropylene. Polypropylene is
very durable, has great chemical resistance components and has a very high
melting point (320 Fahrenheit). BASF latex is also used as a secondary
coating.

blades are made from. Thiolon® is considered to be one of the best turf fibers

development and to the development of low sliding resistance (LSR®) fiber.
Thiolon® fibers are also free from heavy metals and are UV treated. As a
result, Thiolon® grass fibers may be used anywhere and without any

7. Grass Yarn Type Thiolon's LSR® (lower sliding resistance) is considered
one of the best. Thiolon’s LSR® is perfectly able to withstand extreme
conditions and intensive use. The Lower Sliding Resistance® reduces the risk
of damaging the skin when sliding on the turf.
